Double Trouble

This past week at the Warhol was quite the busy one! On Monday I worked at an "Absolut" vodka event. The event was a launch party for the new Andy Warhol bottle design. They are releasing a limited time bottle to be sold at the museum and at the bar Andy's at the Fairmont. It was a very smooth sailing event with cocktail party style set-up and a guest bartender. The Warhol museum had the "Absolut" bottle paintings specially brought over to hang for the event and tour. On Wednesday I helped set-up for a live auction. It was quite a production for it was as sit-down dinner with a stage and multimedia components. One thing I've learned at the Warhol this week was the importance of keeping track of a master calendar. The Warhol has a master calendar book and a computer system schedule. The event planner and the other employees booking events each have to be sure to check all books before booking an event so they do not overlap. There was a mis-communication and unfortunately a concert and a bat-mitzvah were booked on the same day. Luckily the concert was able to be moved to one of the other carnegie museums but it was a very stressful moment to make sure all parties involved were happy.
